Talking to my friends in the digital photography industry, it seems that sales for the newly announced Canon EOS 5D Mark II DSLR are surprisingly strong for a camera whose price — body only — exceeds $2500.

Looking at the features, though, it’s not all that surprising. The new Nikon D90 offers many new features and the latest Nikon technology at a reasonable price. Well, the Canon 5D Mark II — although it’s approximately 2 1/2 times more expensive — matches all of the Nikon D90’s capabilities, and them takes them to the next level.

For example, the Nikon D90 offers a 12.3 megapixel DX-format CMOS image sensor with 4288 x 2848 resolution. The Canon 5D Mark II bumps this up to 21.1 megapixels (5616 x 3744 resolution).

The Nikon D90’s “expanded ISO sensitivity” provides image capture in low light conditions up to the equivalent of ISO 6400. The Canon 5D Mark II matches this, and also offers its own “expanded” ISO sensitivity up to ISO 25,600.

The Nikon D90’s D-movie mode impressed me, with endless possibilities of capturing amazingly creative digital videos through a variety of Nikkor lenses. Well, the Canon 5D Mark II not only captures video, but it does it in true 1080p, high-def resolution in Live View. Around half an hour of HD, broadcast quality video can be captured, and then output via an HDMI interface.

Although the price of this camera is out of reach of the average photographer, for anyone who wants to upgrade their DSLR to today’s best standards, the Canon 5D Mark II should definitely be considered.

I’m excited! The Nikon D90 has just been released, and this camera is great! I had high expectations, and Nikon has exceeded them all with this new DSLR. If you want to get this camera right away, order the Nikon D90 from Ritz Camera and you’ll be sure to get it ahead of anywhere else.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love digital SLR cameras, especially my Nikon cameras. My favorite is my Nikon D80. But one thing that has always bugged me is that there are features you can get in a pocket-sized compact camera (or even the camera built into your cell phone) that you couldn’t get in a DSLR costing more than $1000. Features like auto-face recognition and video recording were — in my opinion, anyway — conspicuously absent.

Now, a little over two years since the initial release of the Nikon D80, Nikon has come out with a camera that literally has everything in it I could imagine: the Nikon D90. 12.3 megapixels, DX-format CMOS sensor, auto-focus AND auto-face recognition, low-light capabilities (up to ISO 3200), super-fast 4.5 shots per second for those days at the BMX track… the features go on and on.

This camera has almost all of the latest technology of the flagship Nikon D300, but it’s less than half the price!

But wait… there’s more! A feature has been added that surprised even me. The Nikon D90 can record videos, with or without sound (your choice), in 720p resolution!

Can you imagine the possibilities?!?

Think of all the great photos that you’ve seen. All the Ansel Adams-esk landscapes… The gorgeous portraits, candid shots and wedding photos… The action sports shots… The abstract images created by changing the color settings or by using a wide-angle lens, a fish-eye lens or other unique optics.

Now imagine… all of these “special effects” can be available in a hand-held video camcorder; a camcorder called the Nikon D90.

I will be writing much more about this camera soon, going into its new, unique features in much more detail. For now, I recommend that you buy a Nikon D90 now. This will be a purchase you can cherish for a long, long time.

If you are looking for a stylish digital photo frame with lots of extras at a great price, for a limited time Ritz Camera is offering a SmartParts 11-inch digital picture frame for less than $100.

I personally own this digital frame, and when I purchased it, the price was twice what it is here. Even at the higher price, I think it’s a good value because of all of the features it offers and the quality of the frame.

Displaying your photos is as easy as taking the memory card from your camera and inserting it into the digital frame. It will display your photos in a variable-speed slide show, but you can first add a WMA sound file to your memory card if you want to play background music while your pictures are being displayed. The frame will also play most of the popular digital video formats: MOV,WMV,MPEG, and AVI.

The SmartParts frame also comes with a remote control for configuring the frame or if you want to manually transition from photo to photo.

The customers who reviewed this product gave it 4 or 5 stars, and listed “ease of use,” “quality construction,” and the brightness and clarity of the images as notable. I agree wholeheartedly, so if you are looking for one of the best digital photo frames for an excellent price, visit RitzCamera.com.

The new FX-format Nikon D700 D-SLR camera will be available late July 2008, but you can buy the Nikon D700 now. Nikon introduces the new D700 digital SLR camera featuring a 12.1-effective megapixel Nikon FX-format sensor that measures 23.9 x 36mm, which is nearly identical to the size of 35mm film. Benefiting from Nikon’s legacy of imaging technology innovation, the D700 offers both advanced and professional photographers stunning image quality, accurate color reproduction and revolutionary low light performance.

    * Active D-Lighting with NEW Auto mode: Unique three-phase dynamic control to capture previously lost details in shadows and highlights while maintaining normalized contrast.

Building on the immense success of the Nikon D3 professional D-SLR camera, the D700 offers pro-level performance and an extensive array of features and innovations in a comfortably nimble platform. In addition to the Nikon-original FX-format CMOS sensor, the D700 incorporates Nikon’s EXPEED Image Processing System, Nikon’s renowned 51-point auto focus system with 3D Focus Tracking and two Live View shooting modes that allow photographers to frame a shot using the camera’s three-inch high-resolution LCD monitor. The D700 also features Nikon’s sophisticated Scene Recognition System and a new active dust reduction system.

Featuring the 24-120 mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S VR IF-ED Nikkor Lens.

The AF-S VR Zoom Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED offers a versatile focal range from wide-angle to telephoto and also gives photographers an unprecedented control over their pictures in a wide variety of difficult and tricky situations.

Nikon’s advanced Vibration Reduction technology allows photographers to use slower shutter speeds, yet achieve sharper, crisper pictures than before, and with Nikon’s exclusive Silent Wave Motor Technology for nearly instant autofocus response - overall image sharpness quality is raised to new levels.

In addition to Vibration Reduction, the AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED lens includes a selection of Nikon advanced technologies such as Manual/Automatic mode, two Extra Low Dispersion (ED) glass elements and two Aspheric lens elements, Silent Wave Motor Technology (SWM), Internal Focusing construction (IF), Super Integrated Coating (S-IC) and G-Type design.

Nikon’s flagship FX and DX-format cameras, the D3 and D300 respectively, established new benchmarks for digital image quality, speed, and unmatched ISO performance. The D700 maintains this new measure with exceptional overall image quality, broad tonal range and depth, and extremely low noise throughout its native ISO range of 200 to 6400. The Nikon FX-format cameras have teamed with Nikon’s lineup of DX-format models to offer photographers unprecedented advancements in performance and versatility along with the freedom to choose the format that best serves their needs. The introduction of the D700 offers an important new option to photographers who need the overall performance and imaging perspective Nikon FX-format cameras offer.

The legendary Nikon FX-Format CMOS sensor
The D700’s 12.1-megapixel FX-format CMOS image sensor provides exceptional image quality throughout its remarkable ISO sensitivity range. A large pixel size of 8.45 µm allows for an extremely low signal-to-noise ratio and a wide dynamic range. The 12-channel readout enables accelerated information transfer, allowing the D700 to shoot at speeds of up to eight frames per second at full resolution (using the optional MB-D10 Multi Power Battery Pack) and quickly write image data onto the CompactFlash card.

The D700 offers a versatile base ISO range from 200-6400 but can be expanded to range from ISO 100 (Lo-1) to 25,600 (Hi-2) affording photographers the new-found confidence to shoot in the widest variety of lighting conditions from the brightest midday sun to dim interiors. Images previously thought to be impossible to create without complex lighting set-ups or lengthy post-processing are now captured easily and faithfully with the D700, unleashing new and diverse shooting possibilities.

Also new to the D700 is Nikon’s first self-cleaning system designed for the FX-format sensor. Utilizing four distinct vibration frequencies, the D700 frees image degrading dust particles from the sensor’s optical low-pass filter at start-up, shut-down or on demand. As an added benefit, the mirror box and entire shutter mechanism are constructed of materials that resist creating debris that can affect image purity.

Fastest speed and autofocus in its class
The D700 starts up in a mere 0.12 seconds and has a nearly imperceptible shutter-lag response time of 0.40 milliseconds, making this an extraordinarily responsive tool for the demanding photographer. The D700 can record full-resolution JPEG images at an astounding five frames per second (fps), or eight fps with the optional MB-D10 battery pack for up to 100 images, or up to 17 lossless 14-bit Nikon NEF (RAW) files. To write images efficiently, the Nikon D700 is also compliant with the next-generation of high-speed UDMA CompactFlash cards that will enable recording speeds up to 35 megabytes/second.

The D700 offers one of the fastest and most accurate advanced AF systems on the market today. Nikon’s Multi-CAM 3500FX autofocus sensor module features 51 AF points and the ability to use 3D tracking to focus and lock-on a moving subject. The 15 cross-type sensors and 36 horizontal sensors can be used individually or in groups, with the option for Single Area AF mode and Dynamic AF modes using groups of either 9, 21 or all 51 focus points. The system also features 3D Focus Tracking with automatic focus point switching that takes advantage of all 51 AF points as it uses scene color content and light information to accurately track the subject.

Intelligent features for sophisticated performance
The D700 relies on a wealth of innovative Nikon technologies to help photographers create superb images. Nikon’s Scene Recognition System analyzes information from the 1,005-pixel RGB light sensor for use in auto exposure, auto white balance and autofocus calculations. The Scene Recognition System also assists autofocus by tracking subject position and automatically shifts the AF points used to match the subject’s movement within the frame. This system also contributes to higher accuracy of auto exposure and auto white balance detection, resulting in sharp landscapes, flattering portraits and engaging action shots.

Photographers also have the option to enhance their pictures during or after capture with the Picture Control System and Active D-Lighting. Nikon’s Picture Control System enables users to adjust their images to pre-set parameters such as Standard, Neutral, Vivid and Monochrome that apply tweaks to image sharpening, tone compensation, brightness, overall tone and saturation. D-Lighting uses localized tone control technology to further optimize highlight and shadow detail while also maintaining natural contrast, giving photographers the ability to capture more perfectly exposed images, even in unusual lighting conditions. Active D-Lighting lets photographers choose from various intensities during capture, while a new Automatic mode also applies varying levels of D-Lighting as, and when needed, to enhance photos while shooting.

Enhanced Live View modes and viewfinder
Ideal for studio, remote applications and more, Nikon’s Live View allows the photographer to compose the subject on the bright three-inch, TFT LCD monitor. In Handheld mode, the user is able to recompose the frame prior to actual shooting; familiar TTL phase-detection AF is activated, using all 51 AF points. Tripod mode is designed for precise focus accuracy with still subjects and tripod stabilization. It enables focal-plane contrast-detect AF on a desired point within a specific area. Remote view, focusing and shooting can also be controlled from a PC (via connection or wireless) using the optional Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 software. Additionally, the Virtual Horizon feature on the D700 can now be superimposed over the Live View monitor image to aid composition.

While using Live View to compose or review images and settings, users will appreciate the ultra-high resolution 920,000-dot VGA, three-inch TFT LCD monitor with tempered glass that provides a wide 170-degree viewing angle. The large monitor is remarkably effective when confirming the focus with enlarged playback images. The camera also outputs a video signal to an HD television using the new smaller HDMI-C standard, which is an excellent solution for workshop demonstrations or shooting tethered for clients.

Photographers will also be able to compose images easily using the wide and bright viewfinder that features an eye-level pentaprism with high refraction index and provides a 95 percent frame coverage with 0.72x magnification. Each of the 51 AF points, as well as a framing grid, can also be superimposed on the finder screen to suit the photographer’s personal preferences.

Rugged construction and durability
High-strength magnesium alloy is used for the construction of the camera body, rear body and mirror box to create a precision platform, reduce weight and provide rugged durability. The camera is tested to stand up to the rigors of the globetrotting photographer and is weather sealed using precision O-rings where connections are made to effectively combat dust and moisture.

The shutter unit employs an assembly made of a new composite carbon fiber and Kevlar hybrid material. Tested on fully assembled cameras, the D700’s shutter unit has been proven through 150,000 cycles under demanding conditions. The self-diagnostic shutter constantly monitors and maintains shutter precision to ensure peak performance.

The New D60 Digital SLR joins Nikon’’s award-winning line of D-series digital SLR cameras and shares a form similar to the D40 ? Nikon’’s smallest D-SLR camera ever. With 10.2 effective megapixels and a wealth of innovative and user-friendly features, the D60 enables both photo enthusiasts and those new to digital SLR photography to capture incredible images like never before.

Nikon D60 Features at a Glance

Extraordinary 10.2-Megapixel DX-format Nikon Picture Quality

Includes AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR (Vibration Reduction) Lens

Fast Startup and Split-Second Shutter Response

Shoots Continuously at up to 3 Frames per Second

Active Dust Reduction System with Airflow Control

Easy Operation with Intuitive Controls

Up to 500 Pictures per Battery Charge
Based on CIPA battery testing standards

Bright, 2.5-Inch Color LCD Monitor with 170-Degree Wide-Angle Viewing

Nikon’’s Smallest Digital SLR Ever!

Automatic Exposure with 8 Digital Vari-Program Scene Modes

In-Camera Editing Functions

Users will immediately appreciate the D60′’s fast 0.18-second start-up time and split-second shutter response, which combine to eliminate the frustration of shooting lag ? a common issue with many point-and-shoot digital cameras. With a fast and accurate autofocus and the ability to shoot continuously at up to three pictures-per-second, the D60 faithfully captures pictures that other cameras often miss. The D60 does all this while delivering extraordinarily vivid and detailed pictures, ensuring that fleeting expressions, special moments and memorable events are captured beautifully.

Packaged with Nikon’’s new AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR image stabilization lens, the D60 camera and lens outfit delivers striking image sharpness. What’’s more, Nikon’’s proprietary VR (Vibration Reduction) image stabilization technology also dramatically reduces blur caused when shooting handheld pictures, especially in low light.

The camera’’s 10.2 megapixel CCD sensor delivers crisp, high-resolution images with astounding color and clarity, while Nikon’’s advanced 3-D Color Matrix Metering II ensures that images are exposed beautifully and automatically, even in challenging lighting conditions. Additionally, Nikon’’s new digital image processing concept, EXPEED, delivers smooth tones and accurate color for vibrant pictures and flattering portraits.

The D60 also offers consumers comprehensive in-camera functionality, such as Active D-lighting. Through this innovative Nikon feature, the camera can, with the option selected, further optimize shadow and highlight detail?as pictures are taken. Shots that once required adjustment with photo editing software can now go straight to the printer, bypassing the computer altogether.

For added fun and creativity while reducing or helping to eliminate time spent manipulating pictures later, the D60′’s In-camera Retouch Menu enables users to accomplish a wide variety of tasks without a computer. The D60 offers new in-camera editing capabilities, including adjustable cross-screen star effects, color-intensifying filters as well as D-lighting, Red-eye correction, Image Trim and more. The D60′’s Stop-Motion Movie mode is a D-SLR first that enables users to create stop-animation movie clips from a series of as many as 100 consecutive JPEG picture files. More experienced photographers will also enjoy shooting in the lossless NEF (RAW) format, and then adjusting image parameters, such as size, format, and white balance, all within the camera.

While many cameras now feature a dust cleaning function, the D60 takes this idea one step further. In addition to offering an Image Sensor Cleaning function that quickly and silently shakes off specks of image degrading dust, the camera also minimizes the dust that can come into contact with the sensor through a unique Airflow Control System. This design works to channel particles away from the sensor with every click of the shutter, resulting in even further reduction of dust particles and the spots they can leave on pictures.

Ergonomically designed with intuitively placed controls, the D60 is a camera that’’s compact and ready to go wherever life leads. It also features a new power conserving Eye Sensor that turns the big 2.5-inch color LCD monitor on and off automatically when the user alternates between taking pictures and reviewing camera settings.

A customizable LCD monitor user interface rounds out the D60′’s convenient features, as users can create their own wallpapers and adjust color settings to adapt to their preferences. The D60′’s design also supports Eye-Fi memory card functionality, enabling the convenient wireless transfer of images from the D60 to a computer, when using Eye-Fi memory cards.* Additionally, photos can be securely written to readily available SD cards, high-capacity SDHC cards and Eye-Fi memory cards, offering users a range of data storage options.

Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55MM F/3.5-5.6G VR Lens
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55MM F/3.5-5.6G VR Lens offers Nikon’’s proprietary Vibration Reduction (VR) technology to help consumers snap sharper photos than ever before, even while shooting handheld. Compact and lightweight, this affordable lens is an optimum lens to use with Nikon DX-format digital SLR cameras and is the ideal focal length as a first lens to faithfully capture life’’s day-to-day moments, or a welcome addition to a Nikon D-SLR photographer’’s already-established lens assortment.

From family gatherings to sunny vacation beaches, the NIKKOR 18-55mm VR lens produces stunning results with vivid color and incredible sharpness. The 3x optical zoom offers users of Nikon DX-format D-SLR cameras including the D40, D40x, D80 and new D300 with a versatile picture angle perspective ranging from wide angle for dramatic landscapes and interiors, to moderate telephoto that is ideal for flattering portraits.

Beyond the lens” incredible optical versatility is the amazing benefit of Nikon’’s VR technology, which enables photographers to take substantially sharper handheld pictures at slower shutter speeds than would otherwise be possible. This provides the distinct advantage of being able to shoot more effectively in a much broader variety of challenging conditions. Nikon’’s VR system affords users the ability to take pictures at shutter speeds up to three stops slower* than they ordinarily could shoot without the image-degrading blur caused by camera shake at slow shutter speeds.

Nikon 55-200 mm F/4-5.6G ED AF-S DX Nikkor Lens
The new AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED brings far-away subjects to the photographer without the burden of carrying a large telephoto lens. Zooming in on those elusive action shots at soccer or baseball games will fill the frame with images that would be otherwise impossible to capture. Its impressive zoom range of 55-200mm allows users the versatility to capture everything from razor-sharp candid portraits to sports, nature and even wildlife pictures. Despite its long zoom range, the AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 55- 200mm f/4-5.6G ED is remarkably compact and lightweight, and proves to be a formidable companion to the instant responsiveness and the impressive speed of the new D40 digital SLR camera.

To ensure outstanding optical performance, thid lens also features Nikon’’s exclusive Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass to minimize chromatic aberrations, and Silent Wave Motor technology (SWM) for fast, quiet auto- focusing. All of Nikon’’s DX Nikkor lenses are optimized for the DX format sensors found in all Nikon digital SLR cameras, making the lens smaller, lighter and with exceptional center-to-edge-to-corner image quality and performance.

Versatile and ultra-compact with a powerful focal length range of 55-200mm designed exclusively for Nikon DX format SLRs, this is an ideal 3.6X zoom lens for portraiture, sports or wildlife.

An excellent companion to the AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED.

New compact rod-type Silent Wave Motor (SWM) enables ultra-high speed autofocusing with exceptional accuracy and super-quiet operation.

Nikon Super Integrated Coating minimizes ghosting and flare to provide even higher contrast and more vivid images, even in challenging light conditions.

Two ED glass elements achieve minimized chromatic aberration and superior optical performance.

Focus Mode switch enables quick-switching between A (Autofocus) and M (Manual Focus).

9-blade rounded diaphragm for more natural out-of-focus highlights.

I purchased this Nikon D0 since locating 35mm film is getting harder. I have a smaller Nikon Coolpix L4 which is ok but I really wanted better resolution. You will not be disappointed with the D60. I received mine 4 days ago so I’m not up to speed with all the controls - it will do everything (editing, red eye removal, etc.) prior to transferring to a computer.

Reduce Your Risks When Purchasing Used Cisco Equipment by Insisting on These Best Practices

The market for used Cisco equipment has reached multi-billion dollar proportions, according to research from Gartner. Vast amounts of various types of popular gear are available worldwide as the refurbished Cisco market gains traction with Fortune 1000 companies, financial institutions, government entities and service providers worldwide.

So why do some potential purchasers still equate the process of buying used Cisco network gear with horror stories heard about online auctions and guys working from garages? As with most all transactions, from buying used CDs or DVDs to pre-owned vehicles and boats, you will gain the best results by doing your “homework.”

Today, top-tier providers of used Cisco equipment operate sophisticated refurbishment centers based on industry best practices to ensure products and services measure up to—and even exceed, in some categories—what end-users receive from OEMs or channel partners. To ensure the best purchasing experience, the practices below should be followed when considering used Cisco equipment.

Demand a warranty: Reputable dealers offer warranties of at least one year on all refurbished Cisco equipment. This goes a long way toward dissipating purchase anxiety. Also included are advanced, overnight replacement guarantees and certified technical support—essential services OEMs charge extra for.

Get a guarantee: Purchases should be examined thoroughly, including port- and load testing. Properly inspected, refurbished Cisco equipment will stand up to failure rates of new gear, which are less than one percent. Remember, the equipment may be “old” by OEMs’ standards, but it has a shelf life of 25 or more years—if cared for correctly—and most OEMs will admit that. Request lifetime indemnity against counterfeit, previously stolen or unusable gear. One of the best warranties offered in the business is offered by Network Liquidators.

Insist on suitable memory: Used Cisco marketers provide memory upgrades as well as GBICs, cables, power supplies and other accessories at fractions of what manufacturers charge. Upgrading from 128MB to 512MB in a Cisco router may cost $750 while OEMs charge $4,000.

Verify financial viability: Tier-one providers of used Cisco equipment operate on a worldwide basis, maintain massive inventories and demonstrate sustainable financial viability. Anyone can offer warranties, only reputable players can be trusted over time. Insist on proof of equipment authenticity and customer references.

While traditional interest in the used Cisco market comes from incredible deals—up to 90 percent off manufacturers’ list—don’t overlook outstanding responsiveness. Ever been hung out by OEMs missing delivery dates? Lead times usually are measured in weeks–six, at least—and extended waiting impacts even large companies. In contrast, secondary marketers fulfill the majority of equipment requests in days. That’s a huge plus when SLAs or deals are at stake. We’ve seen cases where customers stood up by OEMs purchase used Cisco gear to fill in and re-deploy the gear for redundancy, spares or testing.

No company should be without alternative sources for equipment procurement. By following a few steps, buyers ensure their purchase of refurbished Cisco equipment will be successful while solidifying an alternative purchase outlet to relieve future rapid network expansion, OEM delays or disaster recovery.

Myths and misconceptions surround the market for refurbished Cisco equipment, creating unnecessary fear, uncertainty and doubt. Many of these misconceptions have been precipitated by OEMs; no doubt because some have admitted they look upon the used Cisco market as their No. 1 competitor.

To set the record straight, it’s time to debunk some of the commonly heard myths about refurbished Cisco equipment.

Myth #1 - The Secondary Market = The Gray Market
In reality, the two markets should not be painted with the same brush. In fact, most reputable sellers of refurbished Cisco equipment have more stringent practices in place to detect black market or counterfeit goods than most OEMs and VARs/distributors. Product packaging is not a reliable way to judge authenticity, which is why the best used Cisco marketers conduct extensive tests on all used Cisco equipment resold to prove legitimacy. In addition to setting high standards, top providers in the used Cisco market are working closely with law enforcement to eradicate the counterfeit equipment problem.

Myth #2 - Used Equipment is Abused Equipment
Reputable marketers of used Cisco equipment do not sell their goods "as is." All offerings are fully refurbished to ensure they are as close to original condition and performance as possible. Buyers should only deal with used Cisco equipment sources that have a proven track record for longevity, financial stability and outstanding business practices.

Myth #3 - The Equipment You Need is only Available New
More used Cisco equipment is available than ever before. Top providers in the secondary market maintain extensive inventories of the most popular networking equipment. This means the vast majority of requests can be filled on the spot. If not, these used Cisco providers have extensive contacts, enabling them to fulfill requests within days. In contrast, it often takes weeks or months to secure new equipment from manufacturers.

Myth #4 - Third-Party Components = Inferior Products
A third-party component is not necessarily an inferior replacement. For example, Cisco buys its memory from NEC, Samsung and other "third parties" rather than manufacture those products. The memory does not carry a Cisco logo, even when they resell it, so identical items are available directly from the memory manufacturer. Purchasing accessories like memory directly from the "third party" source may reduce costs as much as 80 percent. A knowledgeable used Cisco market provider helps identify these savings opportunities while ensuring all "third party" components are, in fact, high-quality equipment.

Myth #5 - Used Cisco Equipment Comes With No Warranty
In 2004, NHR introduced the industry’s first standard, one-year overnight replacement warranty on every used Cisco equipment purchase. Since then, many other players in the used Cisco market have followed suit, surpassing the warranties offered by many OEMs.

Myth #6 - Technical Support is Not Available
Leading suppliers of used Cisco equipment offer both pre- and post-sale technical support from certified technicians. In most cases, these experts test up to 100 pieces of used Cisco networking gear each day, giving them more real-world experience than even most OEM technicians.

Clearly, it’s time to dispel the myths and forge past the FUD about the used Cisco market to view this growing segment as a viable and reliable alternate source of networking equipment.
