Garmin’s Nuvi 780 can rightly claim to be one of the most sought after GPS tracking devices available today. It’s easy to see why. The device is so small that it can conveniently fit in a jacket pocket. A suction cup can also be used to attach the device to your automobile’s windscreen or dashboard. When you arrive at your destination, you just have to remove the device from its suction cup, and the Nuvi 780 takes note of the location where you’ve parked your vehicle. This is very useful in crowded car parks or complicated parking areas, or for a person like me who has a tendency to forget where he has left his car in the street.

With the Nuvi 780 at your disposal, you can depend on it that you will always take the most direct route to your desired destination. You only have to input the destination in the device and it get down to work sifting through all the potential routes to find the best and most convenient for you. The device is aware of all relevant information, such as local traffic conditions or possible shortcuts so it is bound to settle on the best possible route to take you to your destination.

The 780 is arguably the best GPS device on the market. Do not be deceived by its size – it is not short on advanced features such as multi-point routing and it can send and receive weather updates and real time traffic condition updates. These embedded functions are serviced by MSN Direct, which, apart from weather and traffic updates can also provide local events, movie times and live gas prices.

So what more could you wish from a GPS tracking device? Despite its diminutive size and lightness it comes with a generous 4.3 inch TFT touch screen which has anti-glare protection and is capable of showing images at a resolution of 480 x 272. You also get a USB port and a slot for an SC card. Power is provided by a lithium ion battery which can provide up to five hours on a full charge. It is also versatile: while you are driving it can play MP3 music and function as an image viewer. But that’s not all – the Nuvi 780 comes provided with a car power adapter and a USB cable, and a mount for your windscreen or dashboard.

The Garmin Nuvi 780 looks like the previous models from the Nuvi 700 series. It has a good width so that the screen is viewable from different angles but at the same time it is slim enough to be conveniently stored inside your car, or in your pocket.
