Update: The price has been lowered on Nov 3rd at RitzCamera.com; it is now $2048.00 before rebate and $1948.00 after.
Prices for plasma TVs keep coming down, and leading the pack today is RitzCamera.com. In their electronics store, they are offering a 50-inch Panasonic Plasma TV TH50PH9UK (Progressive Wide Panel Display) for $2099, which is reduced further to $1999 after the $100 rebate (good until 12/31/2006).
This HDTV has a lot going for it for an extremely attractive price. The Panasonic TH-50PH9UK offers the highest levels of brightness, color gradation and 10000:1 contrast.
Flexibility is this product’s middle name; the 16:9 aspect ratio makes this television perfect for movie buffs. It offers HDMI via an optional terminal board, while the built-in analog video/audio and S-video connectors give the benefits of plasma to those who don’t have true digital satellite or cable signals piped into their home yet. The 15-pin PC connectors qualify the Panasonic TH-50PH9UK to be used as a "make-your-friends-jealous," wide-screen computer monitor (up to 1366 x 768) as part of an ultimate gaming system.

Free After Rebate! Thru Oct 31, 2006
Good for up to 3 PC’s…
I am always really happy when I can find a tech deal that ends up costing nothing. (Of course, these deals are always “after rebate” freebies, so if you don’t like rebates, don’t trust rebates, or if rebates are too much of a hassle, this deal isn’t for you.)
When I was writing yesterday’s tech deal about the $4.99 1GB Memorex flash drive, I noticed that the CA Internet Security Suite was bundled with several different products on TigerDirect, as well as being offered separately for a net price of $0.00. Computer Associates is really serious about breaking into the Home & Home Office software market, so through the end of October 2006 they are offering to rebate the entire price of their CA Internet Security Suite if you upgrade from a previous version or switch over from a competitor’s product.
Although I haven’t personally used this suite, I am very familiar with CA software. In my ol’ mainframe days, we relied on Computer Associates’ software to give us access and control with utilities that IBM didn’t supply (or didn’t build as well). High-quality software has always been CA’s mainstay.
The Computer Associates Internet Security Suite is a direct competitor to Symantec’s Norton Internet Security as well as McAfee’s products. It offers Anti-virus, Anti-spyware, a personal Firewall, and Parental Controls, just like the more popular Symantec products. The CA product, however, is a 3-user license; you can be legal for 3 PC’s with one package. The Internet Security Suite also has a unique guarantee from Computer Associates: With this product, CA is covering you for up to $1500 of damage caused by any virus that this program did not protect against, and up to $5000 of identity theft losses (related to addressing and cleaning up the identity theft) even if the loss was not caused by accessing personal information on your computer. (Jurisdictional restrictions apply… sorry New Yorkers. See the details on the product page.)
In the interest of full disclosure (and to prevent you from wasting time, if this isn’t a good match for you), please note the following:

The consumer electronics store at RitzCamera.com is offering a great deal on a JVC HD-61Z886 61″ widescreen projection HDTV. The MSRP on the JVC HD-61Z886 is around $4700, but for less than $1600, you can get a this 16×9 aspect ratio, 720p television that was voted Best Rear Projection Display by the 2005 Home Theater Rave Review.
At 1280×720, the resolution isn’t quite up to par with today’s higher-priced technology, but JVC’s 3-Chip DILA System provides excellent image quality and flicker-free performance. With HDMI/HDCP digital inputs, your digital cable/satellite box can deliver true digital video and digital audio signals. For more traditional connections, the JVC HDTV has 3 S-video inputs and 4 A/V inputs.
There is no time limit or quantity limit stated on the site, but as with all sales and special deals, prices can change at any time. If you’ve been in the market for an excellent wide screen HDTV at a special sale price, this JVC 61-inch HD-61Z886 may be the bargain you’ve been looking for.
Shipping charges vary based on location, but Ritz Camera online also pays your sales tax to make this special even a little sweeter.
