Okay, you are either planning to upgrade your home theater tv or looking to start from scratch and you’re thinking television.

Should you consider LCD or plasma? All pertinent questions and in this article we’ll give you three screens worth considering.

Sony

The Sony KDL40W3000 HD TV is a good performer with several excellent features. Home theater aside, this particular model is excellent for games users so bear this in mind when shopping for a tv.

There are plenty of features to consider with this model and depending where you shop, you could be expected to pay anywhere from $1600-$2500. This set features a high definition multimedia interface with PC connectivity. Apart from the brilliant color, this smart set also has the ability to adjust automatically the brightness levels in conjunction with the levels in the room.

One of our favorite features is the ability to use a screen freeze function for purposes such as gathering information before it disappears. It’s a typically well put together Sony product and well worth considering.

Samsung

Samsung have won a lot of friends with their 46 inch LNT4665F LCD HD model. This lightweight set has the performance output to match and one of it’s big features is a glossy screen and excellent contrast. With 3 HDMI inputs, plus two component video and PC input this set is not lacking in the feature department. This could stretch some budgets but at between $1800 and $3500 it is hard to beat.

Panasonic

In the world of plasma, Panasonic have the TH42PX75U 42 inch HD model which is an excellent buy particularly for those on a smaller budget. It has you covered in the sound department as well with a 20 watt speaker system which doesn’t skimp on power.

If Plasma is your interest then this is a tough set to go past. Choosing the right set is one of the toughest things to do when considering your home theater tv so spend a little time making your decision and the three sets listed a well worth investigating a little further.

Current info about Lg Plasma Tv is not always the easiest thing to locate. Fortunately, this report includes the latest best plasma tv info available

Plasma Televisions are made up of plasma gas which is Xenon and Neon Gas. These gases are placed in tiny cells or pixels across the screen.

The interior of the pixels and sub-pixels are coated with phosphor. Each pixel has three sub-pixel representing a primary color (red, green and blue). These cells (pixels) are contained between two pieces of glass.

Connected to each plate is an electrode, these electrodes extend the whole length of the plates of glass forming a grid on both plates of glass. These electrodes are also connected to a computer in the display.

To create an image the computer sends a current on the electrode and the corresponding position on the grid to charge the gases in the pixels which causes the gases to become ionized which in turn depending on the length of time the current in on causes the gases to give off an ultraviolet ray.

This ultraviolet ray then causes the phosphor coating of the pixels to light up the appropriate color. With all of these cells or pixels lighting up at the same time they create a smooth image.

Advantages of a Plasma Display

The advantages of this technology is that since the whole screen can be lit up at the same time and every pixel can be used and “on” we get very smooth images.

Also since each pixel in the screen is lit independently the images are very bright and can be seen from wide angles. Finally the biggest advantage of Plasma Televisions is they can be made very large and extremely thin with most displays these days measuring no more than 4 cm in depth.

The most common display size these days is the 42″ with 50″ – 60″ at the high end, this is not up to Projection TV’s yet but the quality in image that is gained and the fact that the screens are very thin makes them my choice for best display at this time. The largest Plasma screen in the world was just shown at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas.

It measured 103″ and was made by Matsushita Electrical Industries (Panasonic). Samsung is currently in second place with their 102″ inch Plasma Panel. For the consumer the largest panel you can buy is made by Samsung measuring 80″ and costing a whopping $130,000. Imagine what the wife would say if you brought that bad boy home.

Some people collect freebies as a hobby, and it’s difficult to differentiate between people that are genuinely interested in trying a product sample, and somebody that just wants to add the product sample to their collection. However, the vast majority of people are selective when they are choosing a sample to obtain, and then there are that will take anything that doesn’t have a price tag attached to it. So how can a company guarantee that their samples are being used, and that their investment is paying off? When you get down to it, it’s a balancing act. Companies take the rough along with the smooth. They hope that if they distribute enough free samples, their product will reap the rewards.

However, not all stories are pretty stories for some of these companies. For instance lets say that you sample a product and you end up disliking it, odd are that you will probably go out of your way to avoid it in the future, and you may even go so far as to voice your dissatisfaction for their product. Studies have proven that people tell more people about their dissatisfactions than their more positive encounters. This is why, free samples could be risky for business if the quality of the product is not up to par. However, more often than not, people are happy to receive anything that is free. If they dislike the item that they received, it’s highly unlikely they’ll dwell on it for too long.

When freebies are combined with other marketing activities, they can increase sales, raise awareness, and create a buzz around products that might have gone unnoticed. One thing is for sure: free samples are here to stay, at least for the foreseeable future anyway.

HDTV offers viewers a better sound and color than they are used to with their traditional TV set. You may be telling yourself that there is nothing wrong with your television picture or sound so why bother upgrading. Once you view a movie on HDTV though you will definitely notice the difference. You can see a variety of colors clearer. Pay attention to the sound and you can tell different levels of sound in the audio you weren’t able to experience before.

With Dolby surround sound you will be able to have a home experience watching movies that is very similar to going to the theater. The only downside to watching HDTV is that nothing else will ever be good enough again. If you only have HDTV in your living room you may find watching TV in the bedroom isn’t as fun as it once was.

Right now televisions with HD are quite expensive but they are well worth the cost. The service that you need to view channels with your High Definition Television are not though so you can get an excellent cable or satellite package to accompany it. As HD becomes more popular will find almost all channels being available in that format. Right now though you will have to be content with a couple of them.

HDTV Televisions have become such a standard entertainment venue in modern life that some people see the television as a mandatory appliance. As technology advances are made with flat panel LCD plasma screens, the impending implementation of HDTV, getting the latest version of HDTV televisions is considered necessary.

I know a person that lost their home for failure to make the mortgage payments. She now lives in a government subsidized apartment. The first thing she did when she moved in was purchase an expensive digital cable subscription. She told me she had to watch her old television shows and having digital cable became a necessity. When you have expensive home entertainment equipment, it is expected that you have to also have hundreds of channels of high definition digital cable programming to complement it.

When I suggested that maybe she should be satisfied with her DVD collection and the two or three channels of free local television programming, she was outraged that I would say such a thing. Just because she was one social program away from homelessness did not mean she should do without animated television series that was of the highest quality.

All in all, since television became an American staple barely fifty years ago, it has become so influential that people would risk their rent money to watch it.
